Lincoln Horticulture Society, a recently formed club championed by student President Grace Mainwaring, hosted their first industry event on March 15th with over 50 people in attendance.
April Oakley, from Oakley’s Vegetables, was part of the panel and says the event was really valuable for the grower community. “On the panel, we talked a lot about the advantages and importance of having diverse leadership. From a business point of view, there are huge advantages to businesses with diverse leadership.”
Panelists included: Dr. Sharon Lucock – Lincoln University, Lincoln Roper – Grower/KPMG, MP Hon David Bennett, April Oakley – Grower/Student, and Summer Wynyard – NZAPI (pictured) as well as MC, Mike Chapman – HortNZ.
